National Weather Service could tour to determine if tornado touched down

COLUMBUS / BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) ? Officials from the National Weather
Service could spend part of Tuesday morning in parts of the area to determine
whether or not tornadoes touched down.

Strong storms rolled through the area late Monday afternoon and into the
evening, causing for the National Weather Service to issue tornado warnings in
Bladen, Columbus and Pender Counties.

According to meteorologist Sandy Lacorte from the National Weather Service,
the weather service will be in contact with emergency managers in Bladen and
Columbus county and possibly survey the Hallsboro area to determine whether or
not a tornado touched down.

At this time, there is no confirmation of a tornado touchdown.
