Gosh. I can hardly believe this is our 6th Firestarters. Our next event, held as usual at Google HQ, is loosely themed around digital storytelling and video (where I think there are some particularly interesting thinking, tools and processes developing) and is on Wednesday 26th Sept at 5.30. At a time when brands are increasingly becoming publishers in their own right, and the whole area of content marketing is exploding, I think this is a great subject to focus on. One of the great things about working with Google on Firestarters and curating the events is that I get to pick out speakers who are not only challenging, provocative and knowledgable, but ones that I've always wanted to see and hear.?
This event is no exception, and we have three brilliant speakers to give their own very different perspectives on the subject:
- Ajaz Ahmed who founded AKQA in 1995, which went on to become the world's largest?independent digital agency. Ajaz has just co-authored?'Velocity: The Seven New Laws For A World Gone?Digital'
- Matt Locke - previously Head of Multiplatform Commissioning at Channel 4 and now running?Storythings and The Story
- Matt Heiman - tech entrepreneur, and founder of Diagonal View,?the world's biggest independent producer of digital video content who have some fascinating ways of working?
The event is invite only but as before, I have a few guest passes to give away (first come first served) to readers of this blog. If you'd like one, let me know (I won't be able to respond to everyone but will notify the successful applicants).
