Steve Jobs would probably be confused but flattered at the casting choice
Director Joshua Michael Stern is working on an independent movie?Jobs, based on the life of former Apple co-founder?Steve Jobs. And he's going to have some big name help: Hollywood playboy Ashton Kutcher is signed on to the project.
Kutcher, best known for?pranking boy bands for MTV,?offending people on Twitter, and replacing Charlie Sheen on the CBS hit?Two And A Half Men, will be playing Steve Jobs. The actor will presumably play the younger Jobs, who founded the now?$570 billion company in a Los Altos garage. The picture will begin filming this summer when Kutcher is on hiatus from his CBS sitcom.
And if you're not a fan of Kutcher and have no interest in seeing him play the highly respectable Jobs, you'll be glad to know you have options. Sony Pictures is working on its own film about Jobs' life, based on the Walter Isaacson book?Steve Jobs. No word yet on who is being tapped to play the Apple icon in that particular flick.
