Technology is vital to every library. In this course, you'll learn great tools and techniques for managing computer access in your library, and find solutions to common technology concerns. Topics include:
- Conducting a technology needs analysis
- Hardware: computers and their basic parts; what to look for in purchasing computers; ongoing maintenance and replacement
- Issues relating to providing public computers
- Issues relating to providing internet and wireless access
- Browser comparisons
- Internet, Web 2.0 basics
- Keeping staff up to date
- Funding library technology
Location: Utah State Library
Time: 8:30-4:30 Mon. & Tues.; 8:30-12:30 Wed.
Audience: Library directors, and those working with technology in libraries
