Films Of Colour to play Club NME at London's KOKO this Friday

January 4, 2012 15:11

The band will be joined by Ligers at the Camden clubnight

Films Of Colour are scheduled to perform at Club NME KOKO in London this Friday (January 6), with support from Ligers.

After serving as an opening act for Dexters at the Camden clubnight last month, London-based four-piece Films Of Colour are now returning to headline the event.

Ahead of the show, the band's drummer James Rees-Flynn told NME.COM:

We're really excited about headline Club NME this Friday. They always put on great new bands and we're privileged to now be included. We'll be unveiling our next release, along with playing 'Slow Burn', our most recent single. We'll also be filming the whole gig for our next video.

Films Of Colour recently caught the attention of David Bowie after he heard their cover of his 2002 single 'Slow Burn', which you can download for free by visiting filmsofcolour.com/slowburn. The original song's producer Tony Visconti said of their rendition: "Films Of Colour had altered it so much they had clearly made it their own. I think Bowie is one of the most difficult artists to cover, since his versions of his own compositions seem to be the definitive versions. After I heard Films of Colour's version I was completely won over."

Next Friday (January 13), Jess Mills and Catfish And The Bottlemen will be performing at the Camden clubnight.
